Introducing our latest film:

Fast Train To Fool City

Following the tragic gun deaths of several young Londoners, teens and youth workers at The Palace, a Lambeth community centre, appealed to local Councillor Mark Bennett. They wanted to make a fast, direct response to news headlines stating that the borough was a crime capital, with teens out of control, and hand-guns the street weapon of choice.

One week later, with sponsorship from the Palace and the Youth Opportunities Fund, Fast Train To Fool City was completed. Shot by award-winning director Alastair Pirrie, the documentary features contributions from musicians, artists and over a hundred Lambeth teenagers.

Distributed to secondary schools throughout Lambeth, Fast Train To Fool City was produced with the assistance of Dunraven School, M.P. Keith Hill, King's College Hospital, Lambeth Children & Young People's Service, The Metropolitan Police, The National Offender Management Service, The Nehemiah Project, The Phoenix Project, The Rarekind Gallery, The St Bride Foundation Youth Theatre and X-it.

Local teens turned interns and interviewers in the making of this DVD. Fast Train To Fool City also includes performances of 'Letter To My Mother' from Lonesouljah and 'Sometimes' from Mz Fontaine, who presents the documentary.

With additional material from Her Majesty's Prison Brixton and the true-life experiences of gun offenders and victims, Fast Train To Fool City provides up-to-the-minute insight, information and opinion on gun crime in Lambeth and London.
